Artist's Description
Many paintings in this series look at boundaries in time and space. This piece uses pelicans as shapes traveling through visual space and also time. There are four different skies from different times of day over Trunk Bay, St. Johns. One of the quadrants is done in gray scales suggestive of the era before color photography. The pelicans circle (counterclockwise) in their traveling wave as they often do before skimming the surf for fish. The seagulls (clockwise) movement seems to emerge and then disappear through the red orange area.
